Physical/Medical Requirements

Admission Requirements

Participants attending height and safety training should be medically fit to carry out the practical parts of courses and free from medical contra-indications that may prevent them from working safely.  It should be understood that work at height/rescue and health and safety training at all levels, involves a certain amount of physical and mental exertion. If you have any questions about your ability to participate in ARCH training courses, please contact ARCH before booking onto a course.  All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Certain medical and physical conditions can affect your safe and successful completion of work at height and other safety training. Course participants will be required to self-certify their medical and physical fitness before commencement of their training course.  Ideally candidates should be in possession of a full industrial medical certificate.

As a minimum, we require you to sign that you are historically free of the conditions listed below and, therefore, there is no reason that would exclude you from participation in a work at height/rescue/safety training course and assessment.

Failure to produce a medical certificate or signed self-certification statement will result in exclusion from the course and assessment. ARCH reserve the right to exclude the right to exclude persons from training courses if candidates present in a condition deemed unsuitable for training.  ARCH will provide a copy of a self-certification medical statement to all participants for completion at the course registration on the first day of training.
