The IRATA Level 1 rope access course is the entry level into the IRATA framework, and is aimed at delegates with little or no previous experience. The course teaches a delegate to operate industrial rope access methods under direct supervision of an IRATA level 3 technician, including ascent, descent, rope changeovers, rebelays, deviations, aid climbing, rescue and hauling. ARCH is approved by IRATA International as a Full Trainer & Full Operator Company. IRATA rope access training is delivered at our Enniskillen venue which includes a 15M external tower and indoor training areas. IRATA rope access training courses are also available at our Belfast and Republic of Ireland training facilites for group bookings of 4 or more persons.

Course Syllabus
To equip the participant with the skills and knowledge:
- To perform rope access manoeuvres under the supervision of a IRATA Level 3 rope access technician (ascent, descent, re-belays, passing mid-rope protection, passing knots, obstructions and top edges, rope to rope transfers, passing deviations, horizontal aid climbing and climbing with Y-lanyards)
- To be responsible for inspection of his/her personal rope access equipment;
- To be able to assist with basic rigging (knots, rigging Y-hang, and basic anchors systems);
- To be able to undertake a rescue involving descent and gain a knowledge of hauling systems.

Admission Requirements
Industrial rope access training is physically demanding. Those attending rope access training should be medically fit to carry out the practical part of the course and free from medical contra-indications that may prevent them from working safely at height (A list of conditions that could affect practical rope access training and work at height is available on request). To undertake rope access training you should have the strength to undertake pull ups to support your own body weight. Course participants will be required to self-certify their medical and physical fitness before commencement of the course. Any persons weighing over 136KG should advise ARCH before booking on this course. Participants should be aged 18 years or over.

IRATA Level 1 rope access training is delivered in Northern Ireland at Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh or Shannon Airport training facilities.
