Course Overview

MATS Initial Basic Tower Climber & Rescue training is a designed for people who access masts or towers to undertake maintenance, installation or inspection/survey works.  The course will train participants to access protected areas.  The course can also be tailored to train participants to access unprotected areas when undertaking routine maintenance works.

This course conforms to MATS requirements and is Arqiva approved for the Gateway access scheme.  Successful delegates will be registered with the Energy & Utility Skills Register and issued with a training card.  Employers and site owners can verify training records by inputing worker details at https://www.eusr.co.uk

This course is an initial, non-refreshable course for new climbers (the course must be retaken if the delegate has not climbed occupationally in over 12 months).  A rescue refresher and a climbing competency assessment will subsequently be carried out every 12 months.

 

Admission Requirements

Those attending work at height and rescue training should be medically fit to carry out the practical part of the course and free from medical contra-indications that may prevent them from working safely at height (A list of conditions that could affect work at height is available on request). Course participants will be required to self-certify their medical and physical fitness before commencement of the course.

Participants should be aged 18 years or over.

Available Locations

Training is delivered in Northern Ireland at Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh or Shannon Airport training facilities.  ARCH also delivers training at clients locations across Ireland, UK and international locations for group bookings on request.  Contact ARCH office to discuss your requirements.
